Uff. :-)
Az "A Föld inváziója - csata: Los Angeles" című film... izé. Űrlényes Black Hawk Down. ;-)
Viszont a Battleship határozottan jó film. Sikerült mozivászonra vinni a torpedót. És jól! Beszarás. :-)

Rock Bottoms 2012
A Rock Bottoms (ez a neve a lindy workshopnak)... magán hordozta a lindy workshop-ok összes jó és rossz tulajdonságát. A rosszakkal kezdem.
Ami még negatívum volt, az az átlagéletkor. Az emberek 70%-a 50+-os volt. És ez nem vicc. 27-en voltunk "young ones". Hehe. Ja, 300-ból.
Viszont, most jönnek a pozitívumok. A bulik is házon belül voltak. Minden egy helyen. Odakint meg potyoghatnak a cigánygyerekek.
Aztán a hangulat. Megy a hülyeség (abszolút jó értelemben).
Valaki ezt így kommentálta: "Cause that's what we do". Mármint hogy táncos cipőt veszünk. Ennyi. :-)
Első bók a tánctudásomra lindy környezetben!
Megyek jövőre is!

Alakulnak a dolgok.

The flyback
We were transported to Manchester Airport Terminal 1 by Hazel. She dropped us out of her Skoda, waved good bye, and said the dogs would say woof. (She tend to say that. But I told her once she is a liar, since Hank (one of the dogs) never say woof. Later she said, that Eric (dog), Hank (dog), Bob (husband) sais woof. I told her, she is still a liar, as Hank and Bob never say woof. Woof.)
So as she woofed away, we went inside the huge terminal. We checked in and began to spend about 1-1.5 hours at the various shops, etc. The MA has many shops. The entire complex is quite well stuffed, and if you forgot anything, or think you need anything, you can definitely get it. Despite the name "Duty Free" shops, there shops tend to be quite expensive, however whysky seemed to be cheaper than in shops.
The MA is more like a shopping mall, than an airport. The waiting area has many places to visit. If you like to read, you can definitely buy good books. Books besides are not overpriced, so duty free might apply here. There are a variety of food shops. "All You Can Eat" is just fine for a lunch. It is not too tasty, but better than nothing. As for other things, there is not much to mention, except one thing. There is only hot water in the toilets, so you cannot fill your bottle inside the airport, which is annoying, as we wanted to.
We did not had to take the bus, as the plane was close to the exit. (MA besides has large display panels and lets you know every boarding information conviniently. That feature works well there.) After a short walk, we could get our seats on the aircraft, which seemed to be a bit bigger. The stewies were not so nice this time, and I was not sitting on the side, and they were not very kind, so i had not had such pleasant experiences as on the first flight.:(:P
The flight was definitely smooth. We did not had any problems, and Andi was fine all along. We had a nice view on the UK and the Channel, but we did not saw much of Europe as it was dark then. Landing was nice and smooth, I would say, that this pilot was definitely a good one.
After leaving the plane, we walked to the entrance of BA Terminal 1 and waited. Still waited. I said we were still waiting. Our good guys could not open the doors. How lovely. There were five guys trying to open the doors for us. Finally a police guy, or so, came and opened one door a bit farther away, to let us in. As we had to walk a short distance, our baggages came in slowly. Then we left the airport, called a taxi and came home. This driver was not nice, but kind. He was not a negative experience and not a positive one either. But he dropped me out at the tram, so fine enough.

Flying To The UK
So we went to Budapest Airport by taxi. The taxiguy asked us, if he should take the way through Budapest, or on the M0 Highway. We were a bit short on time, but not with the Highway route. But it costs much more. To tell you, he asked us, when should we be there, so he proposed to take the Highway. Okay, that was all right, but it should not have taken more then 30 minutes. The guy took us there in 50, which was our time limit. Well, that was not nice. We took Terminal 1, more commonly known as Ferihegy 1.
The Airport's interior is all right. The check in was definitely quick, though we did not get our seats next to each other. We chose a Jet2.com flight when booking. We had really little time to get to the boarding, to tell you, I could not really look around, but there was not much to look at. We went to the plane by bus, so we had a little bit of crowd. I think we had a small joke, that foreigners should really experience how Public Transportation looks like in Hungary, and the bus was quite like it. I mean it was damn crowded.
When we got on the plane, there were nice stewies. (Stewie is a nickname for Stewardess) They had a habit of closing the holders above my head. I really loved that blonde one...:) On the plane, we had to face, that we have a nice gypsy company. They were musicians going to the UK. They had really nice manners, like taking six seats together. When the Stewie wanted them to take their own seats, they tried to ignore her. Well, finally they took better position. The biggest one had quite a problem, with his stomach. He was looking numb on his seatbelt, how to fasten it.:)
We had a nice flight, it did not hit Andi hard, and it was OK by me. It was not too smooth, but not that dangerous at all. A businessman offered his seat to me, so We could sit next to each other. Our companion was an other British businessman, who regurarly comes to Hungary to see a dentist. He was coming here for a few years now, and he said, that he can spend some nice time, with good doctors attending to him and altogether (accomodation, food, dentist) it only costs the half, then it does in the UK.
We had a landing at Manchester Airport a bit earlier, than we expected, what was not a big problem, as we had to get to our train. The collection of luggages was easy, and we had a nice, straight way to the train station. Moving walkways made the trip even quicker. The train was a nice one, with the interior being clean and shiny. The ticket inspector was a very kind man, smiling on us, which made the impression much better. The train first went from Manchester Airport to Manchester Picadilly, which is the hub of train traffic.
There a lot of people, especially young people boarded the train, and we got quite a big attention, as our language was not processible by their minds. :) There was this girl, who was phoning all along the voyage, had a small skirt, and a red jacket. The whole stuff did not look nice. And she was definitely looking at me. I don't know what she saw in me, but it was strange. We took off at Huddersfield, where we took a taxi to Hazel's house.

Off-licence Shops
In England there is a special kind of store called: the Off-licence shop. For an outsider, the term might not be understandable. I took the liberty of looking it up at wikipedia. The term off-licence and on-licence comes from the 1700s, when Gin was cheaper then beer. This is something that was not favoured at the time, so they tried taxing Gin. The continous riots made the taxing impossible, so for a few years Gin was again taxless.
Some 20 years later, somebody tried getting money from the cheap gin bussiness, by enforcing an Act, that stated that gin can only be sold at places, that have licences. That's when the licence stuff all came up.
Today regulations of the British Crown are moderately strict about alcohol consumption and in Wales, Northern Ireland, Scottland and England they all came up with some sort of licencing Act. The common in them is that there are on-licences and off-licences.
An on-licence goes for the numerous kinds of restaurants, bars and hotels and the term relates to the place where you can drink the alcohol. So if you buy a beer then you have to drink it on site at an on-licence place. However off-licence places allow you to buy beverages in bottles, and you are not allowed to drink it in the store, you have to drink it off the premises. These shops usually referred to as "Offie" or "Offy". Some restaurants call themselves fully licenced. This means they serve liqours also, not only beers, vines or cider.
In the various regions of the United Kingdom the licence types may vary, but the general categories of licences are all the same.
